Aberdeen Jazz Festival are looking for volunteers to join their fantastic 2018 team.

This year the festival is bigger than ever; it will run for 11 days across 22 venues presenting 35+ events (including Jazz on the Green on Sunday 11 March 2018).

Opportunities available:


Assist with ticket sales and customer service (e.g. Provide information to customers), cash handling, merchandising, check tickets of those arriving at the venue, show customers their seats.


We can offer concert management experience in the form of providing assistance/shadowing the lead Concert Manager. Tasks include: Liaise with the FOH / box office team, provide help and support to artists during sound check and concert, ensure the smooth running of the event.


Driving artists to and from airport / accommodation / venue, driving staff or other guests, picking up / delivering things such as instruments or equipment. We ask volunteers be available for as much of the festival as possible with a minimum commitment of three shifts. You need to be over 25 and have a full clean UK driving licence and/or have your own vehicle.


This role involves providing support with the distribution of promotional material before and during the festival (usually hand-outs after other music events taking place in Aberdeen in the lead up to the Festival and/or hand-outs outside shopping centres during the day at weekends), plus some online support (i.e. sharing post on Facebook, etc). For 5 hours of work we offer 2 x free tickets to Riot Jazz Brass Band or Fat-Suit/Werkha or London Afrobeat Collective (or a suitable alternative - excluding A Night With Ella and Hamish Stuart Band).  


Assist with the delivery of a successful and safe event by managing crowds at Jazz on the Green (Sunday 11th March 2018). Tasks include: crowd management, help with branding on the day and general site set up, liaise with the public and the management team.


The role involves taking photos at the concerts. We'd expect applicants to provide own camera.
