Aberdeen College is a vibrant college committed to delivering a music curriculum that is both innovative and relevant to the future needs of industry.  A wide range of cutting edge full time courses in are on offer from beginners to advanced level that will challenge you and develop your potential.  Courses include a variety of subjects such as Live Performing Skills, Instrumental/Vocal Studies, Music Business, Theory of Music and Music Technology

Developing the enterprising musician, the college encourages students to showcase their skills in a wide range of context so regular performance take place across the region in addition to weekly ‘live at lunch’ gigs performed in the studio theatre.  There are several student led groups to get involved with such as:  Funk Band, string group and Scottish Traditional Group in addition to a host of bands performing music from Metal to folk music.  Aberdeen College works in partnership with the University of Aberdeen to provide additional performance opportunities for our students in a variety of ensembles such as the concert band and University Choral Society.

We are very proud of our successful students who have developed their skills and are currently working within the industry.  Some key successes include:

•     Recording and Publishing deals
•     Top ten chart success in the iTunes singer/songwriter chart
•     Support performances with artists such as Sandy Thom, Jamie Cullum, Katie Melua etc.
•     National success in competitions such as the UK songwriting contest, UK Skills challenge, Scottish Alternative Music Awards,

Courses are mainly delivered at the College’s recently refurbished Gallowgate Centre which has seven music recording studios, a 30 station editing suite, studio theatre and 8 rehearsal rooms in addition to classrooms,  library and café facilities.  The college has strong links with local venues such as the Lemon Tree, Cafe Drummonds and the Tunnels.
