57º North is the online music hub for Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, providing everything music-lovers could want in one place.
It's not just for fans, but for musicians, venues, promoters, tutors and anyone else involved in music in the north-east.
The site features the region's only comprehensive gig guide, news, reviews, interviews and a huge resources section with individual pages for bands, solo artists, promoters, labels, recording studios, venues, tutors, shops, colleges/universities, music schools, community facilities, early years music, sound and lighting technicians and music writers/broadcasters.
Best of all, the site is not a commercial venture, but belongs to the music community of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

The Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire Strategic Music (SMP) partnership was a partnership project by Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council with major support from Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative. The SMP steering group, with support from other organisations working with young people in music, developed and produced a number of projects, research initiatives and events designed to deliver the overarching objectives of improving the skills, opportunities and profile of music by and for young people.

Many events, showcases and partnership working took place, with a key element of the work looking at how music for young people could be signposted and communicated in a more joined-up and cohesive manner.
The 57º North website was commissioned to provide an online presence for the SMP to act as a gateway and portal by and for people in music.
Station House Media Unit (SHMU) was awarded the commission to design, build and administrate the site.
The site was launched on Thursday, March 7 2013.
